Which languages does Claude speak?
Claude answers in the language you write in; Anthropic's own help page says it converses in the language you use. The app's menus come in 11 languages: English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish in two variants (Spain and Latin America).
Where is Claude available?
Anthropic publishes an official list of supported countries, which covers the Claude apps and the API. Every European country we checked is on it: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Switzerland; Brazil too. Checked on 29 October 2026.
What does Claude cost?
The Free plan costs nothing. Pro is 17 dollars a month billed yearly, or 20 dollars billed monthly. Max starts at 100 dollars a month. Anthropic lists the prices in US dollars, without tax; the final amount depends on the country you pay from.
How do I start using Claude?
Open claude.ai and create an account with an email address or a Google account. Write your first message in your own language; the answer comes back in the same language. To change the menu language, click your profile icon in the lower-left corner and open Language.
What can Claude not do?
It does not generate images. The Free plan's limits run out fast on a busy day. And Anthropic itself says quality varies by language, so check names, numbers and dates in an answer written in a language other than English before you rely on them.
